Blessed Brown Scapular 

The Brown Scapular is a sacred sacramental and an outward sign of the maternal protection of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Entrusted to us by Jesus from the Cross, Mary is the Mother of our Lord and the Mother of all believers. 

This scapular features two small pieces of cloth—one to rest upon the chest and the other upon the back—connected by cords that drape over the shoulders. 

Through His Passion, Death, and Resurrection, Jesus Christ redeemed us, freeing us from sin and restoring our relationship with God through grace. In His infinite mercy, He gave us His own Mother to guide us. Like any loving mother, she watches over her children, defends them from spiritual harm, and tirelessly leads them closer to her Son. 

Wearing the Brown Scapular signifies Mary’s maternal care. It expresses a heart’s desire to live under her guidance, to follow Jesus faithfully, and to walk with the hope of eternal life.
